Mouthwatering Shish Kebabs

Ingredients:

  • Meats of your choice: chicken breast, beef steak, ham, shrimp, or smoked sausage
  • Fresh veggies: Bell peppers, onions, cherry tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, mushrooms, apples, and pineapple
  • Vegetable or olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Additional tools:

  • Metal or wooden skewers
  • Meat thermometer
  • A heat source: your portable flat top grill, your RV’s outdoor kitchen, or the campfire!

Let’s get going!

  • If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in a pitcher of water for 30 minutes before grilling. This will keep them from blackening and burning.
  • Cut all ingredients that you’re using into bite-size chunks.
  • Thread your ingredients onto the skewer and alternate veggies with meats. This is a great kid-friendly recipe and everyone can build their own kebab based on the flavors they like!
  • Drizzle lightly with oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Grill until meat is cooked through, and a meat thermometer can help ensure your meat is fully cooked and safe to eat. Safe cooking temps are as follows:

Beef: 155
Pork: 160
Chicken: 165
